I took a vacation week at home (a "staycation") in order to prepare for my wedding this coming weekend. It was supposed to be a week of relaxation, but for those of you who know me I couldn't sit still without working on a project! I couldn't resist all that free time and thus embarked on a holiday baking extravaganza to kick off the season.
So far I made:
- Pfeffernusse (German Pepper Nuts)
- Pepparkakor (Scandinavian Spice Cookies)
- Sugar Cookies
- Fudge
- Vanilla Pecan Fingers
After this weekend, I plan to continue my holiday baking frenzy with these perennial favorites:
- Salted Nut Rolls (courtesy of my dear friend, Deb Baker)
- Spritz
- Toasted Almond Chip Balls
- Russian Tea Cakes
- Peanut Butter Balls (again, a Deb Baker recipe)
- Fattigman if I'm feeling especially ambitious (I need to dig up my family's original recipe)
